Plush Charity Auction!
This year’s auction happens on Fri, Nov 26 (Black Friday), and The Speed Gamers have volunteered to help. We will be auctioning the following items this year:
- 8 mini Saturn plushies
- 4 small Saturn plushies with ball/chain
- 1 medium Saturn plushie with incognito scarf
- 3 Saturn sticker sets
- 1 Geppu (Belch) plushie
A charity has been chosen: the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, in honor of the Back to the Future theme we chose during GPP 1.
What’s the Plush Trust Fund?
eagle0wl is a Japanese MOTHER fan who happens to be good at crane games. When Banpresto started putting Mr. Saturn and Master Belch figurines in its crane games, he was there waiting to snatch them up! He sent nearly all of them to our friend Nat, who passed them along to us with the suggestion that they be used to benefit a charity.
Well, as it turns out, eagle0wl isn’t just ‘good’ at crane games, he’s incredible — he donated 67 items:
- 35 mini Saturn plushies
- 16 small Saturn plushies with ball/chain
- 2 medium Saturn plushies with incognito scarves
- 10 Saturn sticker sets
- 4 Geppu (Belch) plushies
When we got the shipment, we realized that there were way too many plushies to auction simultaneously, so we decided to turn them into a ‘trust fund’. For each of the next 4 yearly EarthBound Fanfests, we’re going to auction 25% of the plushies!
