This UNDERTALE cross stitch starter kit has everything you need to get to work on your own projects:
- 11 colors of embroidery floss
- 20 patterns from UNDERTALE, color-matched to the included floss
- 1 25x50cm (~10x20in) sheet of black Aida cloth
- 1 25x50cm (~10x20in) sheet of white Aida cloth
- 2 tapestry needles
- 1 needle threader
- 5 dogs (we already counted)
Black Aida cloth is more difficult to find in stores, but is useful for those large black and white battle sprites from the UNDERTALE Cross Stitch Guide. To make things easier, we've included a nice large sheet in this kit along with a sheet of white Aida cloth.

If you can afford it, i highly recommend getting the Undertale cross stitch book instead of this kit
IF you’re planning on getting the Undertale cross stitch book as well as this kit, then i recommend just getting the book, as it contains all the patterns this kit does and more. It does also come with thread and needles, but you can get those at any craft store for less money. However, if you can only afford the cross stitch kit then it gets the job done just fine

An excellent kit for getting into cross-stitch with Undertale friends.
I bought it along with the book about two months ago and have not stopped stitching since! (I have experience with freehand embroidery for fun, but never did cross stitch or used a pattern before.)
The color-matched embroidery floss being included is so convenient, because I could get started as soon as my order arrived, and shop for additional colors that some book projects need later. The inclusion of the black aida is GREAT, I have yet to see black aida for sale at an in-person crafts store. The tapestry needles are also wonderful, they're nice and blunt so you won't accidentally poke a new hole in the aida cloth instead of going through the correct one, and the eye is huge and makes threading easy even without using the needle threader. This kit didn't cheap out on the materials at all, even though it's small and designed for beginners.
Even though I have the book too, I find myself relying on the patterns from the kit just as much, because they're very convenient to photocopy, mark up however I want, and take with me on the go! I like to bring a small project with me wherever I go so I can work on it on the bus, in waiting rooms, etc.
In case prospective buyers don't want to scour the images, the included patterns are (when the paper is fully unfolded):
- Front: Toby (dog), Flowey with Souls, Toriel, Alphys, Undyne, and little speech bubbles of !, ♪, and =)
- Back: Toby (Bomb), Toby (sleeping), Toby (with bone), Napstablook, Temmie, Sans, Papyrus, spaghetti, save point, golden flowers, Monster Kid, Bird that carries you over a disproportionately small gap, and Asriel
(It should be noted that the specific pattern of the golden flowers here isn't actually one that's in the book, so I'm really glad it's in the kit, it's a very good pattern for making borders and accents out of.)
The colors of DMC brand embroidery floss included are:
- 310, 318, 333, 420, 606, 725, 741, 797, 906, 3760, 5200
One thing that's worth pointing out to people if they buy this kit and the book, is not to assume the colors are exactly the same! Most of them are, but since the book doesn't come with floss and just says the color that's the closest to the in-game appearance, but in this kit you can make all of the patterns with only 11 colors of floss, there's a couple patterns that have slightly different colors than in the book.
Most of the time it's not really noticeable and the difference is small enough that nobody would notice. For example, Temmie's shirt in the book is #996, and in this kit it's #3760, which is a sliiiightly darker shade of blue. That's because Undyne is #3760, so the same skein of floss can be used for both of them.
There's one pattern where it is much more noticeable though, and that's the colors of the SOULs around Flowey, the shades of purple, blue, and green in the kit are very different than the in-game ones. I showed this in the picture I included. If you stitch this pattern from the kit, I recommend looking at a screenshot of the game, and finding thread colors that you think look good for those hearts.
Oh, also, there's a note on the page that says to separate out two strands of floss to stitch with, and that is most people's preference, but it's totally okay to use three if you want less of the background fabric to show through. I definitely recommend doing that when you're stitching on the black aida with a light color.
Thank you to the Undertale and Fangamer teams for making such an awesome kit!
