The independent documentary 10 years in the making is finally available! EarthBound, USA is a movie about discovering the power of online community, butting heads with corporate goliaths and your own looming adulthood, and dealing with your fan site becoming the cult behind one of the most infamous cult-classic videogames of all time, all set in the Wild West of Web 1.0. 

  • Tells the story of EarthBound's release and revival by speaking with the unique voices who experienced it firsthand. 
  • Combines interviews with figures on both sides of the EarthBound story, including Shigesato Itoi, Gail Tilden, and Marcus Lindblom, with period-appropriate sets, quirky performances, and fast and surprising narrative techniques. 

This Blu-ray edition includes deleted scenes and unused interviews selected from the hundreds of hours of footage recorded for this 100-minute film. It includes English SDH as well as Japanese and Spanish closed captioning options for the feature film. This second print run also features a new Italian subtitle track translated by EarthBound Café.

Earth Bait and Switch
This movie is terrible. Most of the film is based around internet chat board members ! Oh all the great memories chatting on a message board for years of your life. With very little information about the Earthbound itself. This movie is the definition of "Cringe".

Spreading PK Love!
This documentary made me realize that the Earthbound community wasn't just another ordinary gaming community. It was a community that acted a lot like a family. Unfortunately I wasn't born until around after the release of Mother 3 and never knew about the series until rather recently, after maining Lucas and Ness in Smash Ultimate and hearing about it from Toby Fox. Despite that, I've played all of the Mother games and absolutely love them (the 3rd being my favorite). Without Starmen.net, Fangamer wouldn't exist, and without Fangamer this documentary wouldn't have been possible. Thank you for this, Earthbound/Mother wouldn't have been as popular as it is today in America without Starmen.net.

Wonderful documentary
I really really enjoyed this film. It’s so awesome and heartwarming to see the passion for the Mother/Earthbound series and the roots of the American fanbase. Growing up, I found out about Earthbound/Mother through Super Smash Bros. and would go on Starmen.net to find all the info I could about the game, I had a phase of total obsession, so I completely related to the folks in this documentary. It was entertaining, insightful, and heartwarming to watch, and I recommend it for any fan of the series.

A wonderful Documentary that goes into depth about the history of starman.net and how a small cult following made a wonderful community

Fangamer at their PEAK!
An absolutely AMAZING FILM! As an Earthbound fan coming from Undertale, this was an amazing experience to learn about the “Mother 3 problem”. 10/10, one of the best things to come out of Fangamer! (And, I screamed “TOBIAS FOXINGTON!” when Toby Fox appeared lol)
