Fangamer Podcast #118 – Mass Effect Game Club

An epic Game Club approaches, do you:

All of us (and our merch!) are currently in Boston for PAX, so we won’t be shipping orders out until mid-April (late next week). Thanks in advance for your patience!

Fangamer Podcast #111 – Minecraft Game Club Part 1

Inspired by the revelation from last week’s episode, in which it was discovered that neither Ben nor myself had really given Minecraft a spin, at least not lately, Gerritt figured having a nice, bite-sized Game Club would be a swell idea. Though what was originally supposed to be just one week has grown somewhat.

So part 1 concentrates on the single player component; both myself and Ben go over our initial impressions of version 1.0, and contrast it with our previous experiences, when the game was still in beta. Whereas Gerritt provides a bit of insight regarding the evolution of the series as a whole,  plus we all touch upon Minecraft fandom as well!

And because we didn’t get the chance to give multiplayer a spin, there’s still plenty of time to join in on the fun. Part 2 will happen the week after next, since coming up is special guest Cory Schmitz! And maybe the week after that as well? Stop by the official forum thread for any heads up regarding plans to play together. Oh, and we also talk about the big office move, I get trolled, plus Gerritt and I bust Ben’s chops over BioWare (yet again).

Fangamer Podcast #109 – Okami Game Club Part 3

The final episode in our 3 part Okami Game Club is upon us. For those who have been keeping up with it, you probably have a good idea of how this show is going to play out but I encourage you to listen as we may surprise you a bit on our final thoughts on the game. Disagree with us or agree, either way we love to hear your thoughts either via voicemail or on the official forum thread for this Game Club.

Now for some business, next weeks show thread is up, for your discussion tell us about those games you wish you could love but can’t! While you are there, we are still looking for suggestions on what games people would like to play for future Game Clubs as well!

Fangamer Podcast #107 – Okami Game Club 2

Round 2 of our first Game Club of the year is already here and honestly it’s not what I had expected. Okami started off very strong and is a beautiful game to play but our podcast crew seems to have formed a different opinion as we reach the mid point of the game. For this podcast we talked about the last 2 play points starting at the Gale Shrine and all the way through the Imperial Palace of Seian City.

Thank you to everyone who left us voice mails, especially those that called in about Okami. If you’ve been playing along with us then share your thoughts in the official forum thread for Okami Game Club. It’s great seeing everyone’s thoughts, both those newbies and Veterans of Nippon. We will be wrapping up this Game Club in 2 weeks so if you are a Gameclubnaut then start wrapping up those side quests and make sure you are done by February 8th!

Next week we will be discussing the major video game news stories of January. SOPA and PIPA will likely come up but if there’s a story you’ve been thinking about that’s worth discussing we will have a forum thread up here soon that you can share your news with us.
