Whew, it’s been a few long months.

And you guys thought this blog would never get updated…

Well to recap what’s happened since April(!), we launched the new forum without too terribly much of a hitch. There’s been a few hiccups along the way, things not working after caching issues, Passenger issues (which, thankfully, have been fixed with the later versions), Textile issues, logins ’sticking’ instead of forcing people to logout, and login issues with the main site. While my list shrinks, there’s still more to do!

After the jump, I explain the upcoming future for the main site.

Screenshots!

It’s been a month since our last post! We’re not dead. In fact, things are going quite well. Reid’s finally working 100% on the CSS, and things are looking really, really nice! What better way than to show off some screenshots?

Front Page ScreenshotFirst here is a screenshot of the front page. We got a lot information on this page. As you can see, we have the forum spy on the right, but also latest posts below the forum as well. You can expand or collapse any forum or category as you wish. You can’t see it here, but the subscriptions show updates to your favorite posts in the same manner as well!

Getting Things Done

The second half of my insane-o long post, wherein I’ll be discussing the work we’ve gotten done on Fangamer’s design/code since February. A tl;dr summary for the lazy among us:

  • I got some mockups done
  • Started work on the XHTML/CSS
  • Ryan has made TONS of progress on the forum

Again, we’ve got some more banners to show first!

The Train Keeps Chugging: Woo-WOO!

It’s been awhile since Reid has made a post. Things are going quite smoothly. The train has left the station and we’re on a roll! While I’m not as wordy as Reid, I’d like to start about some fancy features we’re implementing, and Reid’d like to show you a couple of new layout images. More after the jump!

Big Wheel Keeps on Turnin

Long time since the last update, but there’s been lots going on in the meantime. Lawyer-Time Incorporation Station is rolling along, I’m getting ready to bring on some investors, Ryan has begun full-time work, and I’m deleting files indiscriminately to make room for the massive Photoshop files I’m working on for the forum. But before that, a long-awaited banner update! Here are three cool ones, but hit the Banner Contest page for more:

Home for the Holidays

And when home = Kokomo, IN, that means sporadic dial-up internet access! In addition to that, I had to leave my laptop behind at the Apple Store in Tucson since it was having some power/screen issues. Anyone want to buy a 1st gen Macbook with a new screen/topcase?

Anyway, since my laptop is in the shop, no banner updates today, and not a lot else to say except some random updates…

The Ruby Challenge Launches!

After a very long week of writing, designing, and revising, I’m finally ready to open up Fangamer’s official call for developers:

The Shining Wonderful Ruby Challenge Banner

No banners for this update, I gotta get some sleep! I’ll be posting another update on Tuesday with a bunch of banners and some of the latest stuff that’s been happening.

This weekend: Development kicks off!

My appointment got rejected by the lawyer like a 7th grader with acne, so my business machinations are on hold for the next few weeks. But that gives me time to work on designing and organizing, so that’s ok. Speaking of which, there’s an awesome puppy contest going on which will lead into an even more awesome contest — on Saturday I’m going to be launching a simple challenge/contest for any prospective developers who are interested in working on Fangamer. More on that after the jump, but first, some more excellent banners:

Calling All Developers!

Hello and enchanté! A lot of you know me as ROFISH on the boards. While Reid is in charge of user interfaces, website designs and Photoshop gobbledygook, I’m the technical head of Fangamer. My job is to take Reid’s design and implement it, but I need your help! There’s a lot of small things that must be taken care of. If you’re interesting in coding for us, read after the jump!
