James McSwordicutty

I’m preparing to meet with a lawyer this coming Wednesday. Needless to say, this is terrifying. His name is very soothing, though — Dean Axelrod. Did I say soothing? I meant terrifying, like seeing a doctor named James McSwordicutty. Honestly though, I talked with Dean on the phone and he sounds like a nice guy. I’m going to be speaking with him about incorporation and investors and will report back here with my findings on Wednesday evening.

% of Starmen.Net Forum Pages viewed by New Visitors The ‘ad test’ on the forum hasn’t gone so well — the eCPM (convoluted acronym for “how much scrilla do we get per 1,000 pageviews?”) bottomed out pretty hard before Thanksgiving and hasn’t come back up since. I’m not too discouraged, though, because Google Analytics has been kind enough to inform me that only 8.7% of the forum’s pageviews are from new visitors.

I’m hoping that, since roughly 11 of 12 pages are viewed by repeat-visitors, the numbers will be higher when we debut the ads on Starmen.Net’s main site, where the % of pageviews from first-timers is three times as high. Of course, that’s assuming that first-time visitors are more likely to click an ad…I’m new to this game, so I don’t really know how that will turn out. But hey, that’s why we’re doing the ad test.

Been working hard on a new design/layout for the Starmen.Net Forum, but I’ll post about that tomorrow.

Those guys need to team up and start a firm. “Axelrod, McSwordicutty, Transfatlaser, and Dean.” Sounds good to me.
