Traditionally, the first month of any new year is considered one of the slowest periods, in terms of happenings in the world of video games. Not January 2012. It’s another jam packed show, including the defeat of legislature that had to potential to threaten us all, and the return of an old friend, but in a manner that no one saw coming.
Also, don’t forget: next week is the final installment of the Okami Game Club! Will Gerritt, Ben, and myself make it to the finish line?

Round 2 of our first Game Club of the year is already here and honestly it’s not what I had expected. Okami started off very strong and is a beautiful game to play but our podcast crew seems to have formed a different opinion as we reach the mid point of the game. For this podcast we talked about the last 2 play points starting at the Gale Shrine and all the way through the Imperial Palace of Seian City.
Thank you to everyone who left us voice mails, especially those that called in about Okami. If you’ve been playing along with us then share your thoughts in the official forum thread for Okami Game Club. It’s great seeing everyone’s thoughts, both those newbies and Veterans of Nippon. We will be wrapping up this Game Club in 2 weeks so if you are a Gameclubnaut then start wrapping up those side quests and make sure you are done by February 8th!
Next week we will be discussing the major video game news stories of January. SOPA and PIPA will likely come up but if there’s a story you’ve been thinking about that’s worth discussing we will have a forum thread up here soon that you can share your news with us.
